Christened Punarjeevanam and jointly launched with the State Kudumbashree Mission, Government of Kerala, ICAR-CTCRI proudly inaugurated this innovative sweet potato agri-food system project in Attappadi. This initiative is set to bring new life to sustainable farming practices in the region! ri. M.B. Rajesh, Hon’ble Minister for Local Self Governments, Rural Development, and Excise, inaugurated the program online. The event also marked the beginning of a three-day Livelihood Improvement Training Program, designed to harness the potential of sweet potatoes and tuber crops in transforming rural livelihoods. Dr. G. Byju, Director of CTCRI, delivered an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the significance of ‘Punarjeevanam’. Experts Dr. G. Suja, Dr. M.S. Sajeev, Dr. P.S. Sivakumar, and Dr. H. Kesava Kumar from CTCRI conducted insightful sessions on tuber crops. Exhibition Highlights: A vibrant display of tuber crop varieties and technologies was curated by B. Satheesan, Dr. B.S. Prakash Krishnan, and S. Abhishek Coordinated by: Mr. S. Shanavas, State Programme Officer (Farm Livelihoods), State Kudumbasree Mission.
