The Farm Advisory Service Centre of PAU, Ludhiana, Sangrur inspected the wheat sown with Smart Seeder machine in the field of S. Mehar Chand at village Pannwan near Bhawanigarh. Dr. Ashok Kumar, District Extension Scientist and In-charge observed that the wheat crop is growing well and no attack of pink bollworm has been observed. Only the recommended phosphorus fertilizer has been applied to the wheat at the time of sowing and the farmers are very satisfied with both the number of plants and the overall growth of the crop. They have been advised to spray 0.5% manganese sulphate before the first irrigation and have also been encouraged to monitor the crop on a daily basis. Apart from this, the new gram variety (PBG 10) of PAU, Ludhiana sown in the home garden and other vegetable crops were also visited. Metal shavings and bags of animal chaat were also supplied for the animals. During the field visit, S. Rajinder Singh, Mehar Chand, S. Rajinder Singh, Jagdev Singh and others were present.
