An awareness camp regarding stubble management was organized by PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda at Village Faridkot Kotli Block Sangat on 02.09.2024. The main objective of this camp was to teach the farmers proper use of agricultural machinery for proper management of straw. On this occasion Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda informed the farmers that stubble management in the field increases soil fertility and stubble management can reduce the impact of weather and bad water. He said that pressing the straw in the field for 3-4 consecutive years increases the amount of soil in the soil and increases the fertility of the field tremendously. Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhillon (Professor Extension Education) appealed to the farmers that by using the machinery provided by the Kisan Veer Krishi Vigyan Kendra, they can manage the straw and by doing so, the Kisan Veer can contribute to keeping the environment clean. can Dr. Sarvpriya Singh (Assistant Professor, Horticulture) motivated the farmers about the importance of home garden and cultivation of fruit trees so that farmers can grow their own vegetables according to their household needs. Dr. Tejbir Singh Buttar (Assistant Professor, Soil Science) shared information about stubble management and proper use of fertilizers with the farmers. On this occasion, vegetable kits were provided to the farmers. On this occasion, vegetable nursery and metal scrap sale was also done. About 100 advanced farmers participated in this village level camp.
