The Swachhata Hi Seva- Garbaje Free India programme and Gram Sabha were organized by ICAR- NBSS & LUP, Nagpur at Gumthi village, Kamptee taluka, Nagpur district on 26th September2023.
The cleanliness activities in Gumthi gram panchayat and village has been carried out and Various lectures on importance of cleanliness for healthy environment, healthy agriculture and enhancing the productivity and health of farmers were delivered by Dr. M. S. Raghuvanshi, Pr.Scientist, Dr. U. Maurya, Pr. Scientist and Dr. H. L. Kharbikar, Scientist from the bureau. Narrated about the taking precautions while applying the fertilizers and other agricultural inputs to the farm for health safety of farmers and workers on fields. Also conveyed about the application and usefulness of agricultural waste and organic matters for enhancing the productivity of crops. Enlightened about various agricultural schemes and programmes. Imperative talks were delivered by honorable Sarpanch Smt. Simatai More, Gram Panchayat, Gumthi, Deputy Sarpanch Smt. Ranjana Manwatkar, Gumthi, Smt. Kavitatai Bhoyar, Gram Panchayat Member, Gumthi. And Smt. Shital Band, Social worker, Sawarmendha village.Mr. Prakash Ambekar and Mr. V. T. Sahu (Tech. Officers) from the institute and progressive farmers and farm women Smt. Shilatai Sheware and Shri. Banduji More were shared their experiences among farmers about the agricultural activities. About 50 farmers has involved from Gumthi, Sawarmendha and surrounding villages in the interaction and group discussion programme conducted at the event place.
