Today, on June 21, 2023, under the International Millet Year activity at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, the Hi-tech Srianna Vatika was inaugurated in the Agricultural Technical Park by Honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka by sowing nutritious and coarse grains. According to the geographical condition of Rajasthan, 8 types of coarse grains grown in the university have been grown with hi-tech technology, in which drip irrigation and mulching have been used. With this hi-tech technology, there will be weed control with more yield in less water.
On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, said in his statement that nutritious and coarse grains not only make the farmers of our country prosperous, but their use also promotes a healthy life. On this occasion, Dr. Arvind Kumar Verma, Research Director told that this Vatika is the first Hi-Tech Shree Anna Vatika of the Vishwavidyalaya, following this similar Vatika will be set up at all the research units of the University for which seeds will be made available in sufficient quantity. Dr. Mahesh Kothari, DPM and Head of Department, Soil and Water Engineering Department told that Hi-Tech Shree Anna Vatika will inspire the farmers for high-tech cultivation of millet, so that they will get more quality and yield. Dr. Manjeet Singh, the chief organizer of the program and in-charge of Agricultural Technical Park, gave brief information about the main eight millets and informed everyone about the various techniques and research works established at the Agricultural Technical Park.
