As per ICAR-CRIJAF Office Order Vide Office Order F. No. Jute ICARE/Pur./21-22/ (e150492) dated 05/04/2023, a trainers’ training on ‘Improved Production Technology for Quality Jute Fibre Production’ was conducted during 17-18 April, 2023 at ICARCentral Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Nilganj, Barrackpore for the JSLPS officials from Jharkhand working under Jute-ICARE project. The programme was organized by Dr. Gouranga Kar and Dr Bijan Majumdar (Programme Directors) and Dr. S. K. Jha (Programme Coordinator). In the training a total of 20 officials from Pakur district of Jharkhand participated.
In the two days training, topics like, prospectus of Jute-ICARE programme, Production technology of jute ,Crop cutting experiment on jute, Improved retting with Crijaf Sona,Pest and disease management of jute, Practical classes on In-situ retting technology and pond based integrated farming system, Practical class on Soil sample collection methodology, Use of advanced machinery in jute cultivation, Fibre museum visit were covered.
In the valedictory programme of the two day’s trainers’ training on 18th April, 2023, Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, distributed certificates to the trainees. Dr. Kar encouraged and suggested the trainees to implement their acquired knowledge for getting better crop yield and increased profitability from farming without causing any damage to the environment in the Jharkhand state. The programme Director, Dr. B. Majumdar stressed the trainers to conduct the crop cutting experiment and soil sample collection sincerely utilizing their acquired knowledge for the betterment of the society. The two days training was ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. S. K. Jha after the interaction session of the trainees and scientists in presence of Director, ICAR-CRIJAF.
