The 55th training programme of the Centre of Advanced Faculty Training (CAFT) in Animal Nutrition on the topic Novel Feed Resources to Augment the Livestock Production, Health and Welfare (February 01-21, 2024) commenced on 01.02.2024 at IVRI, Izatnagar. Dr Triveni Dutt, Director cum Vice-chancellor, ICAR-IVRI, presided over the inaugural function. On this occasion, Dr Anju Kala, Scientist Animal Nutrition welcomed all the participants in the inaugural function. The chairman CAFT DR L C Chaudhary, Head Animal Nutrition, presented the brief review of CAFT in Animal Nutrition at IVRI. Dr S K Saha, Course Director, briefed regarding the present short course and informed the house that total 22 participant’s have joined the course from the length and breadth of the country. On this occasion, DR S K Mendiratta, Joint director (Academics) emphasized on attaining a trans disciplinary approach involving staff and students from all departments during the lecture. The chief guest of the auspicious function, Director IVRI opined that more work need to be done with existing facilities and staff, keeping in view the New Education Policy. While addressing the participants he emphasized on research on unconventional feed resources to combat the huge demand and supply gap of feed availability in livestock sector for better livestock productivity.
On this occasion, Dr. A K Verma and Dr Asit Das, course-Coordinators, Dr. V B Chaturvedi, Dr. Narayan Dutta, Dr. Sunil E Jadhav, Dr. Gyanendra Singh, Dr. R.S. Pawiya, Dr. M.H. Khan, Dr. Mukesh Singh, Dr. Hari Om Pandey, Dr Neeta Agarwal Students and staff of Animal Nutrition discipline attended the inaugural function. At the end, Dr. S. K. Saha, Course Director Proposed the Vote of thanks.
