Dr. under rural agriculture work experience by the fourth year students of PAU- Agriculture College, Ballowal Sonkhri. Under the auspices of Manmohanjit Singh, Dean, PAU- College of Agriculture, Ballowal Sonkhri, agricultural awareness programs were organized at village Thanwala, Kalar and Takarla. In this, the team of 13 students Dr. Under the leadership of Jashleen Kaur Sidhu, in the event organized at village Thanwala, various topics of agriculture were discussed and speeches were given. At the beginning of the program, student Sukhmandeep Singh gave information to the farmers about solving agricultural problems. Student Navreet Singh explained the symptoms of nutrient deficiency in crops like popular and wheat and solutions to increase crop health. Student Ravneet Kaur gave information about weed management in popular and wheat crops. Student Chirag Sharma gave information about integrated nutrient management for different crops. Along with this, he explained the importance of balanced nutrient supply through organic and inorganic sources to improve soil fertility and crop productivity. Students Minal Phagna and Navreet Singh then collected soil samples for soil testing and explained the benefits of soil health cards, which provide farmers with vital information about the nutrient status of their fields.

In the program organized at the Panchayat Ghar of village Takarla, the students gave information to the farmers about the nutritional elements of wheat and the prevention of weeds. Meanwhile, student Gurmanjit Singh gave information about mulch, sprays and other techniques for weed control. Student Davinderpal Singh gave information about the nutritional elements of wheat and gave information about the proper use of sulphur, iron and zinc along with the main elements. Meanwhile, PAU A leaf color chart has been provided. Along with this, farmers were encouraged to use Jantar’s green manure and gypsum and two varieties of wheat recommended by the university, P.B.W. 725, P.B.W. 677 and asked to install the popular.

Lecture-cum-discussion sessions were conducted with the support of village sarpanch. In this, the students studied the cultivation of seasonal crops, symptoms of nutrient deficiency in crops, PAU to meet the deficiency of those nutrients. Recommended chemical and non-chemical methods were explained and pamphlets on weed control were distributed to the farmers.

Meanwhile, Dr. Jashleen Kaur Sidhu explained the objectives of the rural agricultural work experience programme, which aims to impart technical knowledge to the local farming community. He thanked the villagers for their cooperation and urged them to connect with the technologies of the university. The villagers thanked the university for organizing this program.
