Celebrating 12.04.2024 the ‘Golden Harvest,’ a total of 20 children from Maple Bear Canadian Pre-school, Udham Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, visited the wheat fields at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. The tiny tots, wearing the traditional costumes and jewelry, danced to the beats of the dhol to commemorate Baisakhi which marked the arrival of spring harvest and exemplified the fortification of pristine glory of Punjab. Accompanied by their teachers, the festive essence echoed the spirit of ecstasy, gaiety and jollity. The teachers also expressed delight over the rich wheat harvest and the kids were in upbeat mood to see the standing crops at PAU.

Mrs Veena Aggarwal, Principal of the school, while extending gratitude to the PAU, informed that the school is being run for the last 18 years for the children following in the age group of around 3-4 years. There are more than 130 centers all over India and worldwide, she added, saying that the visit aimed at keeping the kids rooted to their soil as well as culture.

Dr Lavleesh Garg, Extension Scientist, welcomed the students and the teachers, while Varinder Singh, proposed a vote of thanks. The visit was held under the guidance of Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, PAU.
