The Zoological Society, Department of Zoology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, celebrated Teachers’ Day with much fanfare on September 05, 2023. Faculty members and students expressed their thoughts on the role of teachers as builders of the society and nation at large. As mentors, teachers impart not only knowledge to their students, but are also instrumental in sharing life lessons so as to develop their students holistically.
Dr BK Babbar and Dr Rajwinder Singh were named as the new Office Bearers, namely, as the President and Secretary (Finance) respectively. Dr Babbar expressed gratitude towards students and faculty for the success of the society’s events and especially appreciated the Office Bearers of the outgoing Zoological Society (2022-23) – Dr Tejdeep Kaur Kler (President) and Dr Prerna Sood Secretary, Finance), who, during their tenure, had organised a number of competitions like photography, declamation, debate, poster making etc. to celebrate World Migration Day, World Environment Day, Women’s Day, Teachers’ Day, Wild Life Week under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav etc. Later, Dr Prerna Sood, Assistant Professor (Zoology) proposed the vote of thanks.
