Veraval Regional Station of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute has observed World Ocean Day on 7th of June 2024. The station has organized a drawing competition for the students of Bhidia Government School, Veraval. Thirty students belonging to fishermen community took part in the drawing competition. The drawing competition was centric towards World Ocean Day 2024 theme “Catalysing Action for Our Ocean & Climate”. The young students exhibited an exceptional understanding of ocean ecosystem and climate change, which was evident in their vibrant and colorful drawings. Dr. Swathi Lekshmi P.S, Scientist-In-Charge, congratulated all the young participants for their active involvement. She also had a discussion with school administration regarding the future involvement of school students in similar awareness program and activities. The best three drawings were selected and prizes were distributed to the winners by Dr. Swathi Lekshmi P.S, Scientist-In-Charge, Veraval RS of ICAR-CMFRI.
