Shri Chinmay Tanshikar, a visionary farmer from Goa, was presented with the ‘Dr. M. S. Swaminathan Chair for Excellence in Precision Farming Award-2024’ today by MIT-Art, Design and Technology University in Pune. This award honors his outstanding contributions to sustainable agriculture and agro-ecotourism.

As the founder of Tanshikar’s Working Spice Farm in Netravali village, Tanshikar dedicated more than two decades to cultivating diverse crops, including arecanut, coconut, nutmeg, and various spices across 40 acres.

Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, also graced the occasion.

Tanshikar’s contributions highlighted innovation and environmental stewardship, inspiring future generations of farmers during the award ceremony.
