Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship national program of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. DABD, TNAU is functioning as one of the Regional Coordinating Institute (RCI) for the GoI Sponsored UBA scheme to guide, facilitate and monitor the activities from 2018 onwards for Participating Institutes of ten allotted districts of the Central Zone of Tamil Nadu. The Mission of UBA is to enable participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to work with the rural people in identifying challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth in rural areas. UBA works on five thematic areas namely sustainable agricultural system, water resource management, rural energy systems, artisans, industries & livelihoods, and basic amenities. As on October, 2022, there are around 189 Participating Institutes and 945 adopted villages under RCI, TNAU under different UBA thematic areas.

EDP on Agriculture Exports:
DABD, TNAU conducts a five days Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) on Agriculture Export for the benefit of farmers, rural youths, unemployed graduates etc., The major objective of this programme is to offer capacity building programmes in the domain of agricultural exports for the budding exporters, startups and rural youths. So far, 15 training programmes were conducted and 188 participates attended the training programme.

Agri Business Export Consortium (ABEC)
Agri Business Export Consortium (ABEC) was functioning at DABD, TNAU from 2020 onwards. ABEC gives all export services to the trainees and consortium members. The services offered were guidance for product selection, market and buyer identification, logistics, documentation and digital marketing through export consultants. Facilitating network of stakeholders, conduct of buyer and seller meet and creating market linkages. Connecting with Farmer Producer Organization (FPO), Export Promotion Council (EPC) and Institutes like IIFPT Thanjavur, IIPT Perungudi, and APEDA for product development. Creating a permanent export exhibition for display of consortium export members’ product/technologies. Exposing the consortium members to national and international trade fairs and exhibitions.
