The Department of Food and Nutrition of the University in collaboration with Nutrition Society of India (NSI), Pantnagar Chapter organised an Expert Lecture and Dialogue Meeting on Emerging Trends in Food and Nutrition Research. Organised as part of the 17th Agricultural Science Congress, this hybrid event was attended by eminent experts, faculty members and researchers in the field. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Rita Singh Raghuvanshi, Scientist Emeritus, Department of Food Science and Nutrition (FSN) and Convener, NSI and Dr. Archana Kushwaha, Professor and Head, Department of Food and Nutrition and Secretary, NSI, Pantnagar Chapter. The programme was presided over by Dr. Alka Goyal, Dean, College of Community Sciences and Dr. Krishnapillai Madhavan Nair, Fellow, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) and Scientist F (Retd.), National Institute of Nutrition.

International experts delivered keynote lectures on the occasion. Dr. Abhinav Mishra, Associate Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology (FST), University of Georgia, USA delivered a keynote lecture on Application of Machine Learning in Food Safety, highlighting the role of Artificial Intelligence in ensuring food quality and reducing risk. Thereafter, Dr. Anand Mohan, Associate Professor, Department of FST, University of Georgia, USA presented an engaging session on the topic ‘Oxidized Foods: Nutrition and Health Dimensions’, which also covered the importance of Ayurveda in human well-being.

The event was attended by several eminent academicians including Dr. S.K. Sharma, Professor and Head, Department of Food Science and Technology, Dr. Vikas Bohra, Head, ALP, NDRI, Dr. Vipul Gupta, Professor and Head, FMPT, Dr. D.N. Yadav, Professor and Head, Department of Dairy Technology, NDRI, Karnal, Dr. Prameta Singh, Assistant Professor (LPT), Dr. Neetu Dobhal, Assistant Professor, Department of Food and Nutrition, Dr. Aditi Vats, Professor and Head, RMCS and Dr. Anupama Pandey, Assistant Professor, EECM. The expert speakers were felicitated by Dr. Rita Singh Raghuvanshi. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Archana Kushwaha. The program was successful in highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary research and global collaboration to address contemporary challenges in food and nutrition science.
