April 30, 2024. A two-day ‘Jai Gopal Vermicomposting’ training is being organized by the Directorate of Extension Education of the University and the Earthworm Biotechnology Project, Department of Animal Genetics of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly, from April 30 to May 1, 2024. Scientists from Agricultural Science Centers of 9 districts and progressive farmers of Udham Singh Nagar district are participating in the program. The inaugural ceremony of this training program was organized today at the Training and Tour Unit, Directorate of Extension Education. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan. Dr. Ranveer Singh, Principal Scientist, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly, is an expert in this training program.

The chief guest of the inaugural program described the organization of the program as commendable and informed that farmers will be benefited through this training. In the program, the usefulness of the program was discussed by Director Extension Education, Dr. Jitendra Kwatra and Joint Director, Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary. Training program coordinator Dr. Nirmala Bhatt said that in this two-day training program, the techniques and experimental training of vermicompost production through earthworm species ‘Jai Gopal’ is being organized for the scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras. With this technique, compost is ready in less time. Jai Gopal earthworm culture developed by the Indian Veterinary Research Institute was also distributed. Director of Communications, Dr. J. P. Jaiswal and representatives of line departments were also present in the program. The program was conducted by Dr. Nirmala Bhatt, Professor, Directorate of Extension Education.
