The ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines a 5-day training program on ‘One Health Approach for Surveillance and Diagnosis of Priority Zoonotic Diseases’ from 19th-23rd February 2024, which attracted 35 participants from Punjab and Haryana, including 21 medical officers, 9 veterinary officers, and 5 laboratory technicians.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice Chancellor, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, acknowledged the collaborative partnership between GJ University of Science and Technology and ICAR-NRCE, highlighted its role in advancing public health initiatives.

Dr. T.K Bhattacharya, Director, ICAR-NRCE, emphasised the significance of the One Health training programme and its timeliness in addressing contemporary health challenges. He urged the need for a holistic approach, particularly in light of recent events such as the COVID-19 outbreak, which has underscored the importance of interconnectedness between human, animal, and environmental health.

A total of 78 staff and participants attended the programme.
