An entrepreneurial training program on Mushroom spawn production and Mushroom cultivation was organized by Mushroom Lab, Division of Crop Protection from 19th June to 21st June 2024and 24th to 28th June 2024. A total of 36 people from the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Andra Pradesh, Meghala and Pandicheri attended the training and a great diversity was observed among trainees with regard to educational qualification ranging from intermediate, graduates, and postgraduates. The group included 12 women entrepreneurs. Advanced end-to-end hands-on training was given on various aspects of mushroom spawn production, Mushroom cultivation, mushroom processing & value addition, mechanization and energy management in mushroom farms, and ancillary activities associated with the mushroom industry and utilization of mushroom technology as a social enterprise.
