Regional Research Centre of ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (RRC of ICAR-CIFA) in collaboration with Department of Fisheries Punjab at Shri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab have organized one day Training cum Awareness Programme on “Ornamental Fish Farming” under SCSP programme on 05.10.2023 at DFTC, Innakhera, Shri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. Dr Mukesh Kumar Bairwa, SIC, RRC CIFA Bathinda delivered the welcome address and explained the importance of SCSP programme for livelihood development in rural areas. Mr Ajit Singh, Former Assistant Director of Fisheries, Bathinda, Punjab addressed the gathering and explained the role of ornamental fish farming in developing profitable business venture. Mr Prabhjot Kaur, Senior Fisheries Officer, Shri Muktsar Sahib also delivered lecture on government scheme of fish farming in Punjab. During the technical session training on ornamental fish breeding and culture was given by the Dr Mukesh Kumar Bairwa. In this programme Demonstration of aquarium fabrication also done. In this programme 50 people participated. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Dr Mukesh Kumar Bairwa.
