Three days Training programme on “Microbiological analysis of the water samples and documentation as per IS 15185:2016 requirement” was Organized by Microbiology, Fermentation and Biotechnology Division, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin for the Staff of “Kerala Water Authority” during (17 -19 July, 2024). The training programme was conducted as a part of consultancy to support Quality Control Labs of Kerala Water Authority to set up a laboratory and capacity building the staff for the microbiological analysis of water sample as per IS 15185:2016 and prepare the laboratory for NABL accreditation. The staff of KWA were from various Quality Control Laboratory such as, Trivandrum, Wayanad, Ernakulam, Kollam, Kottayam, Kannur, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Pathanamthitta and State Reference Institute, Ernakulam. The program was aimed to provide overview of the activities pertaining to microbiology testing as per NABL requirement, preparation and maintenance of documents for NABL purpose, guiding to participate in the Proficiency testing and Inter Laboratory comparison programme, testing of sample as per IS 15185:2016, calculation of measurement of uncertainty for biological scope. The training was concluded with valedictory function with the presidential address by the Director and Program Director Dr. George Ninan and welcome address by Dr. T. Raja Swaminathan (Convener and Head of the MFB division) and Vote of Thanks by Dr. Toms C Joseph (Convener and NABL consultancy Cell In-charge).
