The closing ceremony of a five-day workshop on communication skills for personality development was held in the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Science of Home Science College. The objective of this workshop, funded by Nahep Pantnagar, was to instill courage and confidence in the students by introducing them to the scientific principles and psychological approach of communication art. Training was given through interactive sessions on self-motivation, principles of effective communication, public speaking, group discussion, content creation, organization and effective communication skills etc. Throwing light on the objectives of the program, Program Coordinator Dr. Chhaya Shukla said that through this workshop, along with rewarding students’ communication skills for their better future, they will also be given knowledge about the application process, qualification, etc. of the State Public Service Commission examinations. Information was given about preferential qualification, interview process, common mistakes made while applying and their solutions, reservation policy etc. Three special experts Dr. Sneha Dohre, Mr. Sanjay Sharma and Dr. Virendra Kumar guided the students through continuous active interaction with the students for 22 hours yesterday in this five-day workshop. In the closing ceremony, Dean of the college Dr. Alka Goyal, former Director of Communications Dr. Virendra Kumar, Dean Agriculture Business and Management College Dr. Jadaun, Dean Post Graduate College and Registrar Dr. K.P. Raverkar, Department Head Dr. Aditi Vats, Dr. Seema Kwatra, Dr. Divya Singh, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Dr. Sandhya Rani, Shri T.A. Khastagir, Dr. Shefali etc. were present.
Addressing the students on this occasion, Dean Dr. Alka Goyal asked them to work hard and aim for the future life. He said that the students should develop their personality by studying their syllabus diligently with patience and patience as well as by participating from time to time in various curricular and extra-curricular activities organized by the college and university so that they can be successful in the future. Can touch the highest dimensions of success in time.
Dr. B Kumar, the subject expert of the programme, inspired the students to acquire self-knowledge by throwing light on the subjects like soft skills, hard skills, language structure, body language etc. At the end of the workshop, while presenting their feedback, the students emphasized that this workshop has proved to be a milestone in their personality development. In the coming times, other such programs should be organized so that they can benefit. A total of 62 students participated in this program and were given certificates for successful participants. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Kiran Rana, associate professor and co-coordinator of this workshop.
