ICAR-NBPGR regional station, Umiam in collaboration with KVK, Khawzawl Mizoram conducted one day training on Plant Genetic Resources awareness on agri- Horticultural crops on 13th September 2023 under NEH schemes to Mizo Tribal Community. Dr. Julius Uchoi, Scientist and OIC delivered lectured on different types of PGR and its importance, conservation and utilization in Agri- Horti crops. Dr. Malsawmkimi, Senior Scientist and Head delivered lecture on Improved Production Technology in Tomato and watermelon. Ms. R. Vanlalduati ,(SMS) Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Science) delivered practical training on vermicomposting and Mr.Rambuatsaiha (SMS) Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) delivered lectured on Integrated Nutrient Management in Rice. After the programme, Farmer essential inputs ie., vermi beds, maize sheller, peak cap, bag pack, note pad and pen were distributed in 100 Mizo farmers.
