Punjab Agricultural University is continuously trying to connect the youth with their roots by organizing educational tours for students of educational institutions located in Punjab and other parts of India. As part of the initiative and directives of the Punjab Government, 35 students of Government High School, Nahiyanwala (Bathinda) visited PAU to see the magnificent view of agriculture of the state.

In which Dr. Surbhi Mahajan of the Department of Apparel and Textile Science showed the students the items prepared by stitching and embroidery such as bed sheets, cushion covers, table covers, jute bags, file folders and many other home decorative items.

While visiting the vegetable exhibition area at PAU, Dr. Madhu Sharma, Vegetable Scientist shared information with the students about various vegetables and home gardening. In which the students were also made aware about various researches being conducted by the university on vegetables and new varieties of vegetables.

The visit to the Fruit Research Center was conducted by Dr. Yogesh Khokhar of the Fruit Science Department. In which information about winter fruits was shared with the students. The students took a look at the plants of different types of fruits. Dr. Yogesh also made the students aware of the ongoing research on fruits.

The coordinator of this visit from the Communication Center, Mr. Varinder Singh, gave information about the rich cultural heritage of Punjab to the students during the visit to the PAU Museum. Finally, he thanked all the students and teachers for coming to PAU.

This visit was conducted under the able guidance of Additional Director Communication Dr. Tejinder Singh Riar and Head Extension Education Department Dr. Kuldeep Singh.
