Dr BVC Mahajan, Director, Post-Horticultural Post-harvest Technology Centre (PHPTC) and Dr Rakesh Sharda, Head, Department of Soil and Water Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were conferred on 17 th October 2023 with “Sanman Patra” by Sh Chetan Singh Jauramajra, Minister of Horticulture, Punjab at Civil Secretariat, Punjab Chandigarh for their outstanding contributions to the field of horticulture.
Mr KAP Sinha, Special Chief Secretary; Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research, PAU and Smt Shalinder Kaur, Director of Horticulture, Punjab congratulated the scientists for their contributions.
Dr Mahajan has contributed to the development of on-farm cold room scheme which has been whole heartedly adopted by the farmers.
Dr Sharda developed one kanal poly house scheme for the farmers of Punjab under PPP model. Small farmers of the state are successfully running these polyhouses.
