PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Fatehgarh Sahib successfully conducted a vocational training programme on the preparation of eco-friendly cleaning agents from July 9 to 16, 2024.
Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training) at the KVK, highlighted the importance of such programmes in empowering individuals with practical skills to enhance family income and promote entrepreneurship.
Dr. Manisha Bhatia, Assistant Professor of Home Science, provided comprehensive training on various techniques for preparing cleaning agents, including detergents, dishwashers, handmade soaps, and floor cleaners using natural ingredients.
Hands-on demonstrations allowed trainees to gain practical experience in crafting these products. The training emphasized the environmental benefits of using eco-friendly cleaning materials at home.
Additionally, lectures covered essential aspects of packaging, marketing, and branding, motivating participants to start their own enterprises.
Ms. Jagdeep Kaur from the District Industries Centre, Mandi Govindgarh, informed the trainees about government schemes available for setting up small-scale units, further encouraging entrepreneurial ventures.
