About 60 farmers, farm women and extension personnel participated in Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Samaroh, organized 19.06.2024 at PAU’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib.
Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training), welcomed all the participants and gave a brief introduction about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and different activities, conducted by KVK, for the benefit of the farmers.
Dr Reet Verma, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), discussed the importance of adopting beekeeping as a subsidiary occupation to increase agricultural income.
Dr Arvind Preet Kaur, Assistant Professor (Horticulture), dwelt upon the care and management of fruit crops in scorching heat.
Dr GPS Sethi, Assistant Professor (Animal Science), told the farmers about the management of dairy animals in summer season. He also emphasized on various strategies to be adopted for clean milk production.
Dr Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor (Soil Science), discussed the importance of soil health and use of other manure like vermin-compost and green manuring.
Mr Iqbaljit Benipal, Agriculture Officer, Department of Agriculture, apprised the participants of the process to fill the form of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and to avail the benefits of this scheme.
Mr Harmandeep Singh, DPD, ATMA; Mr Jatinder Singh, DPD, ATMA and Mrs Meena, ADO from Department of Agriculture, also participated in this programme.
Later, Dr.Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), proposed a vote of thanks.
