As part of the Global Campaign, #Plant4Mother, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024, Punjab Agricultural University’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Bathinda organized a tree plantation event on August 29, 2024.

The event, led by Deputy Director Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu, saw active participation and was graced by the presence of Deputy Commandant, NDRF, Sanjeev Rattan, who served as the Chief Guest.

The programme with 25 trees planted in honor of mothers, echoing the campaign’s message of environmental stewardship and respect for the nurturing role of mothers. In addition to the plantation, over 100 saplings were distributed to participants, further encouraging community involvement in this nationwide effort to plant 80 crore saplings by September 2024 and 140 crore by March 2025.
