Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized an awareness camp for the students of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Langroa on November 7, 2024 under the campaign on paddy stubble management.
During this camp, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar also explained in detail about the damage caused by burning of paddy stubble and the importance of various elements present in the stubble. He also motivated the school students to play an important role in this awareness campaign. Dr. Kirandeep, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) gave detailed information about the various techniques developed by Punjab Agricultural University for paddy stubble management. Mrs. Renu Bala, Demonstrator (Home Science) shed light on the services of Krishi Vigyan Kendra towards farmers.
On this occasion, Krishi Vigyan Kendra also organized speech and painting competitions to create awareness among the students about the harm caused by burning paddy stubble. Various competitions were held under the supervision of Krishi Vigyan Kendra scientists and school staff. Students participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm and the guests also honored the winning students to encourage them. At the end of the program, the school in-charge, Mrs. Sapna, thanked the experts and assured full support for this campaign.
