PAU-FASC  9.07.2024 Sangrur recently conducted demonstrations on controlling iron deficiency in both direct-seeded rice (DSR) and transplanted rice in Sangatpura village, Sangrur. The village boasts approximately 50 acres under DSR, with Sh. Sukhtar Singh achieving excellent plant population through step seeder sowing.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, District Extension Scientist (Soil Science), educated farmers on the vital role of nutrients, especially iron, in plant growth. Farmers received ferrous sulphate during the demonstrations and were introduced to the benefits of using the biofertilizer Azo-spirillum in paddy cultivation.

Additionally, the event featured the sale of mineral mixtures for animals, UMMB, bypass fat, fruit fly traps, and biofertilizers. The vermicompost unit established at the farm was also monitored.
