Punjab Agricultural University Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur, under the able guidance of Dr. Mandeep Singh, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kheri, Sangrur, organized a tour of the Organic Farming School, PAU Ludhiana to about 23 farmers from different villages of the district. Where they got detailed information about organic farming and integrated farming system model.

On this occasion, Dr. Sohan Singh Walia, Director, School of Organic Farming, PAU, Ludhiana, while explaining the importance of integrated farming model to the farmers, suggested that small-scale farmers adopt this model. He said that by adopting this model, farmers can earn two and a half to three times more income than the wheat-paddy crop rotation from one hectare of land. Along with this, farmers were given detailed information about the different parts of this model such as grain crops, pulses, fruits, vegetables, dairy, goat and fish farming.

Dr. Manisa Thakur took the farmers on a tour of the entire farm of the integrated farming system model and answered the questions raised by the farmers. Finally, agricultural literature was distributed to the farmers.

This entire tour was organized by Dr. Rukinder Preet Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Professor (Crop Science), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur. The farmers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to KVK, Sangrur and requested to organize such knowledge-enhancing tour programs in the future.
