The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to hold the maiden 20th Congress of Agricultural Museums from October 16-18 in the University campus. Dr Gurdev Singh Khush, a World Food Prize Laureate and world-renowned rice breeder, will inaugurate the conference, while Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, will preside over the inaugural session on October 16. Besides, Prof Debra Reid, Curator of Agriculture and the Environment, The Henry Ford Museum, USA, will give opening remarks on “Bringing AIMA to India,” whereas Prof Surjit Sarkar, Vice-President, Internationals Association of Agricultural Museums (originally Association International Des Musées D’ Agriculture – AIMA), will brief about the event. In addition, inauguration of GS Khush Institute and Gurdev Singh Khush Museum, Punjab Culture and Heritage Show at the Museum of Rural Life of Punjab, and visits to various museums of PAU will be the special highlights of the conference which is expected to see the participation of national and international delegations. It may be mentioned that PAU is one of the hosts in addition to Shoolini University, Solan where this conference is going to kick off on October 13 and will continue till October 15.
