The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to organize the Inter-College Youth Festival 2023-24 from November 1-9. The campus is abuzz with enthusiasm as well as preparations by the students for participation in a wide range of items.
Divulging contours, Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, informed that the fest will kick off with poetic recitation and haas rass, poster making, clay modelling, elocution and extempore on November 1 followed by photography, collage making, creative writing, cartooning, rangoli and quiz competitions on November 2. Items such as mehndi, on the spot painting, shabad gayan (solo and group), calligraphy and debate will be held on November 3, he added. Further, competitions in cultural heritage events comprising enu making, naley making, mitti de khidoney making, chikku making and piddi making will be organised on November 4, and in phulkari making, pakhi making, idiom and cultural questionnaire on November 5. The formal inauguration will be take place on November 7 followed by cultural procession, solo dance, folk songs, western solo, western group song, light vocal solo and group song Indian on the same day, he said. On November 8, competitions in group folk dances, mime, bhand, mono acting and one act plays will be held, while on November 9, skit, mimicry, lammi hek wale geet, giddha, bhangra and prize distribution function will be conducted, he informed.
