Singh was done by the Vice Chancellor. On this occasion, Dr. Singh said that Krishi Vigyan Kendra is the main place of knowledge and science at the district level for the people mainly engaged in farming and every farmer who comes here is a special guest of all of us.
He said that in the present environment, agriculture and allied sectors are facing a difficult situation in which stagnation in crop productivity, continuous decline in land fertility along with reduction in irrigation resources and continuous changes in weather etc. are the special factors. Dr. Singh said that in such a time, the reach of Krishi Vigyan Kendra experts will have to be increased to more and more farmers and people associated with the agriculture sector. For this, special emphasis will have to be given on the use of social media and other mediums including organizations of the state government. And this year each Krishi Vigyan Kendra will have to connect with at least one lakh people.
Dr. Singh said that it is very important for every subject matter expert to be aware of the geographical location of his district along with the natural resources and basic problems of agriculture, only then we will be successful in providing technical assistance to the farmers. He said that the experts posted in Krishi Vigyan Kendras should not discharge their responsibilities as experts in any one subject and should serve the farmers by becoming farm scientists. Along with food security, make people healthy by giving them information on nutritional security of the society along with safety.
