PAU’s Department of Extension Education & Communication Management, College of Community Science is organizing 21 days ‘Orientation course cum Induction Training Programme’ from August 2.08.2024 to 23.08.2024 .
The course was inaugurated today by Dr Kiran Bains, Dean, College of Community Science. This year twenty three participants from different departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Regional Research Stations of PAU are attending the course.
Dr Bains informed that the course is designed to equip the newly recruited faculty with proficiency in performing their roles as a teachers, researchers, guides and extension personnel so as to effectively achieve the three fold mandate of the university.
Dr Manjot Kaur, Assistant Professor welcomed the guests and the participants. Dr. Ritu Mittal Gupta, Course Director informed that the experts from the different departments of PAU, retired faculty members and also from other organizations have been roped in to engage participants through lectures, practical and discussions.
For induction training participants will visit Krishi Vigyan Kendras, RRS, FASC, FRS and USF. During these visits participants can interact with outstations faculty and can acquainted with region specific crops, seed production besides their needs, challenges, and strengths.
Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur, Professor cum Head of the Department ensured that the course will help to polish the basic competencies of participants thereby improving productivity of PAU as a whole.
Dr. Bains appreciated the diverse content of the course. She inspired the participants to take up the challenges of their job and imbibe the human values in life to be successful. She congratulated the department for successfully conducting the course since last 11 years.
At the end Dr. Mandeep Sharma, Assistant Professor proposed vote of thanks and wished the participants a healthy stay and an enriching experience.
