Today, on March 15, 2024, a two-day awareness program on natural farming was organized in the premises of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barh, Patna. In this program, the chief guest was Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, and Dr. R. Sohane, Director of Extension Education, Bihar was present as the special guest. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Dr. R.K. Sohane, Director Extension Education BAU, Sabour, Dr. Rita Singh, Senior Scientist and Principal, Progressive Farmers Mr. Shambhu Narayan Singh and Mr. Chandan Kumar. to be done. In this program, Senior Scientist and Head of the Centre, Dr. Rita Singh, while welcoming the various guests in her welcome speech, informed the present farmers, farmer women, Jeevika Didis from Jeevika group, Anganwadi workers and agricultural extension workers about the farmer-friendly programs going on in the Centre. Explained in detail and advised the farmers present to stay in constant touch with the centre. In the technical session, farmers were given information about various pillars of natural farming, various types of organic products like Beejamrit, Jeevamrit, Neemastra, Agniyastra, Brahmastra and Dashparni extracts. In this program, farmers from different blocks of the district shared their experiences on natural, organic farming, cultivation of nutritious grains, button mushroom production, potato cultivation with zero tillage method, wheat cultivation with zero tillage method and vegetable seed production. While addressing the farmers, Dr. R.K. Sohane said that Krishi Vigyan Kendra, mushroom production through flood, pulses, question answer program organized by the university, e-nirog app, farmer helpline no., drone, advanced varieties of Khesari – Ratan and Pratik. Gave information about the initiatives of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barh, Patna on the spread of In his address, the chief guest said that in the changing season, farmers can earn more profit by cultivating nutritious grains and maize, and he also stressed on bringing awareness among school children about agricultural education. He assured the establishment of Agricultural Technical Information Center (ATIC) in every Agricultural Science Centre. Considering the geographical scenario of Patna district, he stressed the need for another Agricultural Science Center in Patna district. He advised farmers to earn additional income by doing flower farming, vegetable farming and rooftop gardening in small areas. He stressed on establishing more number of custom hiring centers in the state. He assured to provide nutritious grain processing equipment in Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
