The ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, in collaboration with KVK-CISH, Malda, conducted a one-day training program on improved method of paddy cultivation for livelihood improvement of SC farmers under SCSP program on June 21, 2024, at KVK-CISH, Malda. A team of four scientists-Dr. Bikash Sarkar, Principal Scientist; Dr. P.K. Sundaram, Senior Scientist; Dr. D.K. Raghav, Senior Scientist-Cum-Head, KVK-CISH, Malda and Shri V.V. Diptikar, Senior Technical Officer, KVK-CISH, Malda interacted with the farmers on these improved methods.. Additionally, inputs including paddy seeds (1115 kg), vegetable seeds (40  packets), and pigeon pea (2 kg) were distributed among farmers. Over 40 SC farmers from Begunbari village in Habibpur Block and Chaithpur village in Gazole Block, Malda District, participated in the program. At the conclusion of the program, the farmers engaged with the scientists, expressing their desire for more regular scientific activities to motivate them to adopt new technologies and increase their income levels.
