ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa, in collaboration with the leading banks State Bank of India and Canara Bank, jointly organized a programme on ‘Self-Help Groups Linkages with Financial Institutions’ at Gram Panchayat Hall, Assonora, Bardez, North Goa, today.

Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, also graced the occasion.

Dr N. Bommayasamy, Senior Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK North Goa, briefed about the importance of SHGs and the financial linkage programme for micro-financial service to rural women by providing easier access to credit and reducing reliance on informal money lenders.

Fifty-one SHG members (02 Male and 49 Female) from 26 Self-Help Groups participated and benefited from this programme.
