KVK, Kampasagar has organised one day training programme training programme on “Best Management practices in HDPS cotton” on 09.10.2023 to enhance the knowledge of farmers. In this programme Chief Guset Dr. Shaik N Meera, Director, ICAR- ATARI, Zone –X and Guest of Honor Dr A R Reddy, Principal Scientist, ICAR-ATARI participated and encouraged the farmers towards cotton cultivation in HDPS method. They insisted farmers to apply growth regulators (mepiquat chloride) in HDPS cotton cultivation. Dr. S. Srinivasa Rao, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar explained HDPS cotton details in Nalgonda District. Dr. K. Chandra Shaker, SMS (Crop Production) explained about nutrient management, Smt. A Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about plant protection measures in cotton, Smt S. Pallavi, SMS (Extension), explained about marketing strategies in different crops and mobile apps related to KVK, Kampasagar, Sri A. Saikiran, SMS (DAMU) explained about Agro met advisories to the farmers. Later guests released the QR codes related to different management practices crops. In the programme farmers Naveen Reddy, Thipparthy, Sudheer Reddy, Munugode interacted with scientists and expressed their positive views in HDPS cotton and the felt happy regarding yield in HDPS cotton. Private seed company employees viz., Rasi and Nuziveedu explained about their hybrids suitable to closer spacing methods. Later guests, scientists and farmers attended for demonstration of pneumatic planter at KVK instructional farm. Later all the scientists and farmers visited the cotton filed at Thippalmmagudem, Thipparthi Mandal of Nalgonda District and interacted with farmers and laborers.
