Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur organized an awareness camp on “Natural farming” at village Punj on 8-12-2023.
At the outset, Dr Ajaib Singh, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), KVK Hoshiarpur welcomed the farmers/farm women and highlighted the importance of natural farming in the present context. He also threw light on the initiatives undertaken by the KVK for promoting natural farming in project mode, which were being implemented through awareness camps, trainings and demonstrations in district Hoshiarpur. Dr. Ajaib also shared information regarding quality gur and shakkar preparation.
During the camp, KVK Hoshiarpur experts, Dr Prabhjot Kaur, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) and Dr Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Assistant Professor (Vegetable Sciences), KVK Hoshiarpur explained in detail the basic principles and practical aspects of natural farming, pest management strategies in natural farming, cultivation of vegetables in winters and mushroom cultivation. Smt Sunita Rani, Programme Assistant (Lab Technician), elucidated the soil sample collection process.
Smt. Samta, Sarpanch, village Punj and progressive farmers of the villages Punj and Saidpur, Sh. Malkeet Singh, Sh. Jaswinder Singh, Sh. Pritam Singh, Sh. Baldev Singh and Sh. Chaman Lal were present during the camp.
