Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Fatehgarh Sahib, in collaboration with the Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, and ICAR-ATARI Zone 1, Ludhiana, conducted an awareness campaign to address the issue of paddy residue burning at Government Senior Secondary School in Panjoli Kalan on November 6, 2023, drawing active participation from approximately 100 students.

Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training) at KVK, underscored the pivotal role of students in disseminating awareness about the adverse effects of crop residue burning. He elaborated on recommended paddy residue management technologies, emphasizing the responsible use of farm machinery such as MB Plough, rotavator, mulcher, and baler.

Dr Manisha Bhatia, Assistant Professor (Home Science), organized an easy writing, poster-making, and declamation competitions for the school students. The winners were duly recognized for their creative contributions.

Shri Rakesh Kumar Babbar, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Panjoli Kalan, expressed gratitude towards KVK faculty for orchestrating the program. He motivated the students, acknowledging their role in the initiative and highlighting the importance of raising awareness about crop residue management.
