Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bathinda, organized a highly informative field day on 29.02.2024 surface seeder technology at village Deon, in district Bathinda. The event was part of the Consortium for Scaling up Climate-Smart Agriculture in South Asia (C-SUCSeS) initiative.
Dr Gurdeep Singh, Deputy Director (Training), discussed the project’s mandates and emphasized the significance of surface seeder technology and its benefits.
During the field day, Dr GS Dhillon, Professor of Extension Education, delivered a lecture on using potassium nitrate in various field crops, highlighting its importance and effectiveness.
Dr Sarvpriya Singh, Assistant Professor of Fruit Science, conducted a session on summer season vegetable crops, providing valuable insights to the farmers.
Approximately 70 farmers participated in the field day, actively engaging in discussions and learning from the experts. A field visit was also organized to inspect the crop sown with a surface seeder. The condition of the wheat crop sown with the surface seeder was found to be excellent, showcasing the effectiveness of the technology.
As part of the event, potassium nitrate was distributed among the farmers, further empowering them with the necessary resources and knowledge to enhance their agricultural practices.
