The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bathinda organized an awareness camp on Crop Residue Management (CRM) on February 12, 2024, at Dulewala village in Bathinda district. The event drew the participation of approximately 50 farmers eager to learn about various aspects of CRM, including nutrient management, irrigation techniques, and weed control strategies, as expert speakers delved into these critical topics.
One of the highlights of the camp was a field visit, where attendees witnessed firsthand the success of using innovative CRM machinery like the happy seeder. Notably, the condition of wheat crops sown using the happy seeder and other CRM machinery showcased promising results, emphasizing the effectiveness of these technologies in sustainable farming practices.
In addition to discussing CRM techniques, the camp also shed light on the importance of subsidiary occupations and the establishment of nutrition kitchen gardens, providing attendees with comprehensive knowledge to enhance their agricultural practices and livelihoods.
