On the second day of the 116th Kisan Mela being held in the university, Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan; Director Extension Education, Dr. Jitendra Kwatra and other officials observed the joint stalls of 9 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and the products of Shrianna (coarse grains) and various types of vegetables produced by the women of FPO self-help groups and obtained information.
He observed various types of handmade products made by the self-help groups of Uttarakhand at the stalls set up by them in the Kisan Mela and told that there is a need to do these on a large scale, so that this art will prove helpful in making the women of the hilly region employable. He consumed dishes made from coarse grains and appreciated these efforts being made by rural women and also gave suggestions to increase their production. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor took information about the models made by the students at the stalls of colleges in the Kisan Mela and he appreciated the students. Along with this, he inaugurated the women’s club and consumed the dishes.
