Pantnagar. 2 July 2024 | A tripartite agreement (MoU) was signed between Pantnagar University and Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar and Agricultural Meteorologists Association (AAM), Anand, Gujarat. This MoU was signed by Dr. Radhika Trikha, Chief Operating Officer, TIFA from Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, Dr. K.K. Singh and Secretary Dr. S.B. Yadav of Avadh Agricultural Meteorologists Association (AAM) and Research Director Dr. Ajit Singh Nain on behalf of Pantnagar University.

The said MoU aims to further strengthen activities of mutual interest with the aim of development of students and farmers through technology and innovations in the field of agriculture, water, horticulture and will also include deployment of cyber-physical systems. This MoU. The aim is water / industry emissions, assessment, treatment and management, upgradation of land resources and agricultural preparation, agricultural automation and precision farming, agribusiness market, application of Internet of Things (IoT) systems in the field of agriculture and water, joint training programs, joint collaborative projects.

University Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan expressed happiness on executing this MoU through virtual medium. He said that this tripartite cooperation will lead to exchange of personnel including students, faculty members and technical staff, which will facilitate more integration capacity building and an organized work arrangement wherever required according to the nature of work.

On this occasion, University Registrar Dr. Deepa Vinay expressed happiness and hoped that through this MoU, the new education system will be effectively implemented in the university.

Director Research Dr. Ajit Singh Nain said that all the institutions will work together effectively in the skill development of faculty members and students and it will be possible to establish many startups and enterprises in the field of automation and cyber physical systems. Dr. Trikha of Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar informed that IIT will provide funds to all such startups and also the students of Pantnagar University will be trained by Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar. Dr. K.K. Singh expressed happiness and hoped that many startups will develop in the field of agricultural meteorology as well, which will provide new employment opportunities to the students of meteorology.

On this occasion, Dean Postgraduate of the University Dr. K.P. Raverkar, Dean Agriculture Dr. S.K. Kashyap, Dean Veterinary College Dr. S.P. Singh, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Brijesh Singh, Director Communication, Dr. J.P. Jaiswal, Director Law, Dr. T.P. Singh, Chief General Manager (Farm) Dr. Jayant Singh and Joint Directors of Research Directorate Dr. K.P. Singh, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. Subhash Chandra, Dr. Dhirendra Singh, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. Ajay Kumar and Dr. S.B. were present. Bhardwaj and Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Agricultural Meteorological Department etc. were present.
