A three days training programme on “Integrated Pest Management for Enhancing Productivity of Rice in Jute Based Cropping System” was organized at ICAR-CRIJAF during 21.03.2023 to 23.03.2023 for the tribal community of Makaltala village, Habra-I, North 24 Parganas under Tribal Sub Plan. A total of 20 tribal farmers participated in the programme. During the programme, the farmers learned about the recent approaches of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in jute based cropping systems, weed management, disease and pest management biocontrol, safe use of pesticides. The farmers actively interacted with the resource persons regarding the problems faced by them in pest and disease managment and was satisfied with the solutions advised by the experts. The programme was organized by Dr. Gouranga Kar, Dr. S. Satpathy, and Dr. R.K. De (Course Directors) and Dr. K. Mandal, Dr. S.K. Sarkar, Dr. V. Ramesh Babu and Dr. M. L. Roy (Course Co-Directors).
