Ginning Training Centre of ICAR-CIRCOT, Nagpur conducted a training programme on “Double Roller Ginning Technology & Basics of Cotton Grading” during August 7-12, 2023. This is a specialized training program conducted mainly for ginners and graders to upgrade their skill and expertise in ginning. The training was attended by total 12 participants from different parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Under this program, theoretical and practical sessions were conducted on fiber quality parameters, Infrastructure and machinery requirement for Modern DR Gin Plant, DR gin settings and troubleshooting, Scientific processing of cottonseed, Surgical cotton, Biomass utilization, cotton trading etc. Participants were given Hands-on training for manual grading, Instrumental grading, and DR gin settings. Apart from this, they were exposed to industries such as Bhagirath Spinning Industries, Nagpur and M/s Bajaj Steel Industries Limited, Nagpur.
Dr. M.K. Sharma, CEO and Whole-time Director, M/s. Bajaj Steel Industries Limited, Nagpur graced the occasion as chief guest during the valedictory session on August 12, 2023. Dr. K Pandiyan, Senior Scientist & Officer In-charge, GTC, Nagpur welcomed the chief guest and briefed about the training programme. Dr. Sharma in his speech insisted upon the preservation of cotton quality with reduction in contamination and inspired the participants to make Indian cotton as a brand at International Market. The feedback was taken from the participants and training completion certificates were distributed to the participants. The function ended with vote of thanks by Er. D.U. Patil, CTO, GTC, Nagpur.
