Dr. S. K. Shukla, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s. Nanospin Technologies LLP, Ahmedabad for technology mentoring and incubation in the field of “Development of value-added products using electrospinning technology” on 23rd August 2023. M/s. Nanospin Technologies LLP is a start-up company located at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. They are working on the development of indigenous electrospinning machine for production of nanofibers.
Electrospinning is a technique to produce nanofibers by applying high voltage to the conducting polymers. ICAR-CIRCOT is working for more than a decade on electrospinning machine development and its various applications. The institute has developed different configurations of electrospinning systems and spinneret for increased nanofibers productivity.
The technology inventor, Dr. GTV Prabu along with the technology mentoring team from ICAR-CIRCOT were present during the signing of this MoU. Under this MoU, ICAR-CIRCOT will provide technical guidance to produce different biopolymer-based nanofibers using the in-house developed needle electrospinning setup and value-added product using electrospinning technology.
