ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technologies, Kochi, organised a 5-day Training Programme in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI, Umiam on ‘Advances in Fish Harvest and Post-Harvest Technologies,’ from 12th to 16th February 2024 at Kochi. The training programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants in various aspects of fisheries, particularly focusing on harvest and post-harvest technologies.
The program included 20 sessions covering various topics such as post-harvest handling practices, processing and packaging techniques, value-added fish products, waste utilization, responsible harvest techniques, engineering interventions, quality and safety aspects, innovations in fisheries extension, entrepreneurship development, and safety standards of fish products.
Exposure visits were organized to provide participants with practical insights into the application of the learned concepts.
A total of 26 participants represented KVKs under ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam from Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura engaged in the training.
