Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda, run by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, is organizing exhibitions on stubble management in selected villages regarding crop residue management. In which the farmers are being made aware about the proper management of paddy stubble. On this occasion, farmer Pargat Singh said that inspired by the successful experiences of surface seeder by Agricultural University, Ludhiana, he is sowing wheat with surface seeder in two acres of his field. Which saves time, labor and money. In this regard, Deputy Director of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu said that this year four villages have been selected for stubble management in which this awareness campaign, camp and exhibitions etc. are being organized so that stubble can be managed properly. He further informed that apart from the selected villages, exhibitions of various techniques related to stubble management are going on in various villages of the district and the farmers are appealed to use the agricultural machinery available in the service of the farmers by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra such as Happy Seeder, Surface Seeder, Zero Till Drill, Reversible Plough, Chopper and Mulcher to manage stubble in their fields. On this occasion, the farmers of the village responded positively to the stubble management and expressed their confidence that they would provide full cooperation for stubble management.
Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhillon, Professor, Extension Education shared information about the agricultural machinery used for stubble and appealed to the farmers to use the stubble management farm machinery such as Happy Seeder, Surface Seeder, Zero Till Drill, Reversible Plough, Chopper and Mulcher to manage stubble in their fields completely. Along with this, he shared detailed information about the new varieties and quality of wheat of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana with the farmers. On this occasion, he shared brief information about the machinery being provided to the farmers by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda for stubble management.
