The ICAR-CAZRI, Regional Research Station, Pali, organized a comprehensive training program in the title of Superior Sirohi bucks in farmer’s flock cum distribution of livestock to enhance the livelihood of tribal farmers. The event was held in Abu road, Sirohi district on 19-21, February, 2025 under the DBT Biotech Kisan Hub project, funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The program was organised and chaired by Dr. A.K. Shukla, the principal investigator of the project and Head, RRS, Pali aimed at enhancing agricultural knowledge and supporting livestock production. Dr. A.K. Shukla briefed about the project and its importance in enhancing the income and livelihood of farmers with a focus on improving farmers’ understanding of crop and livestock management. And also he shared about the importance of Sirohi bucks and its role in enhancing the livelihood of farmers. Dr. Dinesh Prajapathi, AGM, NABARD Sirohi inaugurated the training as well as distribution program and he briefly summarised subsidy and livestock management policies through NABARD. Dr. M.B. Noor mohamed, Sr. Scientist (Agroforestry) at RRS, Pali and Co-PI of the project, provided an in-depth session on benefits and important Fodder trees in livestock Management. Dr. Vijay Singh Meena, Sr. Scientist (Fruit Science) shared his experience in Integrated Livestock and Crop Farming Systems. Dr. Seeta Ram Meena, Sr. Scientist (Agronomy) highlighted essential aspects of livestock management and explained how improving the animal health through the feeding of nutritious fodder crops. In the event more than 40 farmers were participated and superior Sirohi bucks were distributed among the 20 tribal farmers to improve the sustainability, livelihood and socio-economic conditions of farmers of the farmers. Mr. Bharadwaj, SABC, Sh. Mahendra Singh Sonigra, Technical officer, Sh. Sunil Singh Charan, and Sh. Dheeraj Agarwal provided detailed guidance and practical knowledge to manage the health of livestock.
