Director, ICAR-National Institute for Abiotic Stress Management (NIASM), Baramati, Dr. K Sammi Reddy visited Ginning Training Centre (GTC) of ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT), Nagpur on July 07, 2023. Director, ICAR-NIASM was accompanied with Dr. N. G. Patil, Director, ICAR-NBSS&LUP, Nagpur and Dr. Bhaskar Gaikwad, Senior Scientist, ICAR-NIASM. At the outset, Dr. K. Pandiyan, Officer In-Charge & Senior Scientist, GTC welcomed the guests at GTC and explained about the genesis of GTC and its role in improvement of cotton value chain by imparting training to various stakeholders including ginners, graders, farmers etc.
Dr. Sammi Reddy witnessed various facilities and demonstration plants such as Double Roller Ginning plant, Particle Board plant and Fibre Testing Facilities housed in GTC. He interacted with scientific and technical staff of GTC and congratulated them for the achievements made by GTC, Nagpur despite having limited man-power at the centre. He expressed his wishes and greetings for future endeavor.
